Polytetramethylene ether glycol (PTMEG) is a waxy, white solid that melts to a clear, colorless, viscous liquid near room temperature. Polytetramethylene ether glycol is produced by the catalyzed polymerization of te trahydrofuran (THF). The chief uses of Polytetramethylene ether glycol are in the production of spandex (polyurethane) fibers, polyurethane elastomers, and copolyester-ether elastomers.

Applications of PTMEG
Use of PTMEG are in the production of spandex (polyurethane) fibers, polyurethane elastomers, TPU, and copolyester-ether elastomers.

PTMEG is a white waxy solid, freely soluble in alcohols, esters, ketones, aromatics and chlorinated hydrocarbons, insoluble in water. Used as a soft segment of block polyurethane and block polyether polyester. Also used as a raw material of biomedical polymer material.
