Product Description
2-Ethylhexanol is colorless liquid which is used for production of ethers used as plasticizing agents in production of cable
insulation and car finishing materials. Colourless, transparent liquid with characteristic odour.
Application
2-Ethylhexanol Mainly used as a raw material for PVC plasticizers. Used as a solvent and preservative. Octanol is mainly used in the manufacture of phthalate esters and aliphatic dibasic ester plasticizers such as dioctyl phthalate, dioctyl sebacate and dioctyl sebacate, etc. Plastic primary plasticizers and cold-resistant plasticizers, defoamers, dispersants, mineralizers, and petroleum fillers are also used in printing, dyeing, and filming.
1. Plasticizer: 2-Ethylhexanoll is an important raw material for making plasticizers, mainly used to produce plasticizers such as dioctyl phthalate (DOP), dioctyl terephthalate (DOTP), dioctyl azelate and dioctyl sebacate. These plasticizers are widely used in plastic products as main plasticizers and cold-resistant auxiliary plasticizers to enhance the flexibility and processing performance of plastics.
2. Solvents and extractants: 2-Ethylhexanol is also used as a solvent and extractant in printing and dyeing, paint, film and other fields. In addition, it can also be used as a lubricant additive, di esel fuel additive and petroleum additive to improve lubrication and fuel performance.
3. Fragrance: 2-Ethylhexanol itself is also used as a fragrance, often used to blend rose, lily and other floral fragrances, as a soap fragrance.
4. Other Applications: 2-Ethylhexanol can also be used as a surfactant, defoamer, dispersant and stabilizer for a variety of industrial fields. In addition, it can also be used as an extractant and dispersant for mineral processing and oil extraction.
