N,N-Dimethyl Formamide (DMF) is mainly used in the production of pharmaceutical or as solvents in tech industry, etc. DMF is primarily used as an industrial solvent. DMF solutions are used to process polymer fibers, films, and surface coatings; to permit easy spinning of acrylic fibers; to produce wire enamels, and as a crystallization medium in the pharmaceutical industry.
It can be used as solvent for polyurethane, polyacrylonitrile, polyvinyl chloride and paint remover.
NN dimethylformamide dmf also plays an important role in the synthesis of polymer materials. It can be used as a solvent and reaction medium to prepare polymer materials such as polyamide, polyurethane, and polyacrylonitrile. N,N-dimethylformamide can be prepared by the reaction of formamide with diamine, or by the reaction of methanol solution of dimethylamine with carbon oxide in the presence of sodium alcohol. N. N-dimethylformamide is an excellent solvent for a variety of polymers such as polyethylene, polyethylene, polyacrylonitrile, polyamide, etc. it is widely used in plastic film making, paint, fiber and other industries. It has good selectivity for the solubility of terephthalic acid and isophthalic acid, and can be separated in N, N-dimethylformamide.
